I find the view finder installed on mine to be very bright, but the focusing is still a little challenging. AOWS was also instrumental in reigniting my MF passion, I used an SQ-Ai before digital for portraits and the occasional wedding. unfortunately few if any digital back manufacturers make a digital back designed for the Bronica system perhaps Leaf Valeo, Leaf Aptus and Leaf Aptus S may be available in Bronica SQ mount perhaps Sinar via Sinarback FW/Bronica SQ-A Adapter Kit (552.65. CineStill 800Tungsten High Speed Color Film, 120mm Format (ISO 800) 4.6 out of 5 stars. The film backs have their own wind-on lever and of course, the shot counter and the dark slide.

Once one is used to this though, the camera is fun to shoot with. I too have just got back into MF with a Bronica SQ-Ai and an SQ-B for back up. These film backs also have electronic connections so they can inform the camera about the speed being used, in case you are using a metered finder. BRONICA SQ A DIGITAL BACK SERIES
They are not compatible with the older series of focal plane shutter cameras. Lens mount Exclusive four-claw Bronica SQ bayonet mount. Similar to the 6x4.5 based ETR series that came before it, the SQ uses a leaf shutter based lens design. This camera was made in 1980's and it is a modular camera system, similar to Hasselblad. The Bronica SQ is a 6圆 medium format SLR camera that replaced the Bronica EC as their 6圆 format camera from August 1980. Letter A is the model number - Am, Ai and B versions were released as well. SQ designation stands for Square, as this particular model shoots 120 film, creating square negatives (6圆 cm or 2.25 x 2.25 in). Zenza Bronica SQ-A is a Japense made medium format camera.
